TZU CHI HUMANISTIC YOUTH CENTRE PROJECT
Year 2 Semester 1
Design Statement: Create a pop-up market that utilises pops of colour, lines and proportion to educate youths and the public about mental wellness and environmental sustainability. Slightly muted colours will be used to provide vibrancy and comfortable psychological effects on visitors, yet match the simplicity of Tzu Chi, affecting the ambiance of the space. To have a variety of booths that make the pop-up market interactive and therapeutic. Lines repeatedly used on the booths aim to provide organisation, flexibility and contribute continuous flow and vibe of the space while proportion helps to make the space more dynamic. Connectivity will be shown through the interlocking of fabric throughout the market and plywood panels in the stall, representing Tzu Chi's goal of connecting youths from various backgrounds and origins.
